To my baby whose not a baby anymore *sniff, sniff*
Happy 2nd Birthday my boy.

Well all, it’s christmas eve and I want to post the speech I’m saying tomorrow at christmas but I don’t have it on the computer yet….. so in case I don’t make it on later today I wanted to wish everyone a MERRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS. May it be filled with love, warmth and happiness.
We got a bit more snow over night so this morning we all went out to shovel the driveway. Carter has been sick with a bad cold and was happy to be outside for about 15 minutes. Then he wasn’t having any of it and cried to take him in. Poor little guy. It was nice to get out into the fresh air I must say. It was a late night of celebrating my MIL’s birthday so we were tired this morning. It definitly woke us up being out in the nice, crisp air. The sun was shining and we were getting exercise.

And then, I just looked out the window to this:

I feel like I’m inside a snow globe and someone just gave it a good shake
. Looks like we’ll be out shovelling again before dinner.

IT’S GOING TO BE A WHITE CHRISTMAS. YEEEAAAHHHH
Living in a part of Canada where it snows quite a bit in the winter, it’s a very weird feeling to have a “green” christmas. That is where we can see green grass on christmas day. It just doesn’t seem right. We haven’t had much snow to date so I was just saying to hubby a few days ago…. “Oh…. I hope we get some snow for christmas”. And snow we got!
What a stormy day! I think the worst of it has passed so soon we’ll be out, kids with shovels and hubby with snow blower to dig ourselves out. We got 15-20cm today and are due to get 30 more by christmas day. I’m so happy it’s going to be a white christmas after all
. Christmas lights just sparkle in the reflection of the snow and everything gets that magical sparkle. I should take some pics of the houses really done up with lights. I don’t think it’s packing snow though so I’m not sure if we’ll be able to make any snowmen but we’ll try. I’ll be sure to post the pics if we do
.
Happy weekend all.
The boys had their first christmas concert on Friday evening. It was GREAT! Carter was the star of the show when his group was up dancing by himself all over the stage while the other kids sat on the edge of the stage ringing bells. He had everyone laughing. That’s Carter
. I think we have a little class clown emerging.
Cooper who is normally shy, did great. He remembered all his lines for his little skit and when their karate class got up to do a little presentation he actually raised his hand, volunterring to be the one to break a board with his fist!!! I couldn’t believe it. He has been so tight lipped about what goes on in Karate class so to actually see him all confident and breaking a board- I actually cried. My little babies aren’t little babies anymore. I’ve been nostalgic all weekend going through their baby books and watching videos. It’s amazing how fast they grow up.
Oh- I just realized what time it is. Gotta run and pick them up from pre school. More to come later.
I have sooooooooo much going on right now I can barely stop to catch my breath. We sort of unexpectadly (sp?) bought a house yesterday. Yes, you read right…. a HOUSE! Holy flip, it still hasn’t sunk in yet that I’ll be moving in a few short months. I still have to finish my christmas shopping. I have a party this weekend with friends to plan for, 2 major birthdays, 2 christmas dinners complete with 25lbs turkeys each and to pack us all for a 2 week vacation in January. Oh and to get this house ready to sell over the christmas break. The vacation will be sooooooooo needed after the next 3 weeks that’s for sure. It will get me rested and relaxed before I have to come back to pack up house and move.
So, sorry I’ve been slacking on posting regularly but something’s gotta give. Maybe I’ll do picture posts. Here’s some pics of our first attempt at ginger bread cookies.
A few fresh out of the oven.
All set up and ready to go.
Hard at work.
Carter helping me decorate…. or should I say, tasting the final product.
And the finished product:
