Garden

A few days of rain followed by a few days of sun has brought some growth to the garden.  Seeds are starting to pop.

P6090056   beans are starting their climb

P6090067  Tomatos are flowering and one little tomato has begun

P6090059  lettuce has started

P6090060  and so have the radishes

P6090070  And found this guy.  The boys love finding snails, but I hear they can be a real menace to your garden.

  1. Well. If you want the subjects in the first four photos to survive, I recommend you have your boys find the snails and relocate them faaaaar away from your vegetable garden! And congrats on your first tiny tomato! My peppers have started, but the tomatoes are behind. They don’t like the overcast days as much as my roses do…

  2. Congratulations….nothing is no nice as picking your first tomato….they always taste better than shop-bought ones!

  3. It’s all looking good! As Nikki says snails, and slugs, are not gardeners friends and love munching on young seedlings.
    Happy gardening! xx

  4. Nikki: Yes! The snails have gotten into quite a bit of our garden. Not tooooo much damage in the veggie garden *yet*.

Ip: I agree totally :) . And it’s so fun for the kids to be able to watch it grow and then eat it.

Flighty: Yes, I think it was a snail that got to one of Cooper’s bean seedlings. Surprisingly though, that one seems to be doing the best at the moment. We’ll see when they actually start to produce though.
